King Oscar Sponsors New Scandinavian Cooking TV Show

May 2003 – King Oscar’s decision to sponsor the TV program, New Scandinavian Cooking, currently being broadcast in the USA, has produced an exciting bonus!

The program, presented by Norwegian journalist and food writer Andreas Viestad, has been nominated for a World Food Media Award as one of the best global programs about food. Former winners of the award, which is really the food world’s “Oscar,” include Jamie Oliver and Nigela Lawson.

The ultimate winner will be unveiled in October during an international food and media conference in Jacobs Creek, Australia. Even to be nominated, however, is impressive. King Oscar is already enjoying being associated with the program’s success.

“We always thought the program was a good package and definitely worth supporting with a King Oscar sponsorship,” said Ellen Nygård Nilsen. “To now be part of such a high profile international event is a real bonus.”

New Scandinavian Cooking is produced by a Norwegian company called Nett TV AS. It’s a 13-part series on Norwegian food which is being shown on the PBS Network in the United States to a potential audience of 100 million viewers. The series began in April and has become very popular.
